Company founded
New company, MIDA Civil Engineering LTD, was incorporated.
First office
MIDA moved into our first office, a four-person studio in Wrest Park, Silsoe.
Breaking ground
We commenced works on our first project for Blakeney Estates in Meppershall.
Expanding the team
Our first two site operatives, Tomaz Lupinksi & Tony O’Gorman, joined MIDA and commenced works on our second development.
Our first office staff
Our first in-house employee, Julie Lawler, joined the business as Accounts Manager.
A major development
MIDA commenced works on our first major development for Barratt Homes North Thames, a 200-unit scheme in Sawbridgeworth.
Our first excavator
MIDA took delivery of our first Hitachi excavator – a -6 13T.
New office
MIDA outgrew our first office and relocated into our current premises in Doolittle Mill, Ampthill – a 2700sq ft office catering for 30 head office staff.
One year later…
A year after hiring Julie as the first in-house employee we had grown to a permanent team of 17 head-office staff and 150 site-based staff.
New Director
Holding dual chartership with the Chartered Institute of Build (CIOB) and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), James Brown joins MIDA as HSEQT Director (later becoming Operations Director).
12,000sq/ft office
Once again we have outgrown our offices. To focus on continued growth and success, MIDA have planning permission approved for a new 12,000sq/ft office and storage facility in Maulden, Bedfordshire.
New Group Finance Director
Daniel Doyle joins the business as Group Finance Director, bringing a wealth of experience in corporate finance and advisory to the business. He leads on several areas including Finance, HR, IT, and Strategic Planning across the Group.
New Office Opening
Alistair Strathern MP formally opens MIDA’s new Head Office on 17 May 2024. A cutting-edge space, enabling our people to deliver the very best for our clients.
New Regional Director
Andy Parton joins MIDA Civils as Regional Director.
New MIDA Plant Director
Daniel Clorley joins as MIDA Plant Director, focusing on improving the company’s plant investment and utilisation.
